Mr Hannes van Dyk, Chief Financial Officer (IFMSA)

After qualifying in financial management in 1990, Hannes was involved in operational finance in different corporate manufacturing environments in South Africa up until 1996 when he joined the mining and smelting industry at one of the leading ferrochrome producers in South Africa. In 1999 he was awarded a Masters degree in Accounting after completion of his dissertation. His experience has ranged from cost and financial management, tax, accounting, governance and internal control as well as extensive management experience within the ferrochrome industry. Hannes also held various positions with extensive board exposure to multinational corporate shareholders. He joined IFM in December 2008.

Mr Steynberg Janse van Rensburg, General Manager Operations

Steynberg qualified as an Engineer (Metallurgical) in 1995 and completed a General Management Program at Harvard Business School in 2010. He joined IFMSA on 1 November 2012 and brings with him experience in technical and general management. His 15 year career in the Ferro Alloy industry developed his skills in Behavioural Based Safety, Organizational Restructuring, Output Optimization, Plant Construction/Commissioning, Business Improvement and Leadership Development.

Mr Maurice Mkhwanazi, General Manager Mining

Maurice Mkhwanazi has 17 years’ experience in the mining industry. He holds a National Higher Diploma in Metalliferous Mining from the Technikon of the Witwatersrand and a Mine Manager’s Certificate of competency. Maurice joined IFM-SA’s mining division from Harmony Gold Mine in March 2011 as Operations Manager-Mines. He started in the mining industry as a Learner Official and he has worked his way up through all mining supervisory and management levels to his current occupation. Maurice has experience in several different ore body types and has worked in both the Platinum and Gold industries prior to him joining IFM.

Mr Francois Malherbe, Executive Manager Marketing

Francois Malherbe has more than twenty years’ experience in the mining and metals industry. He holds a Magister Philosophy in Mineral Economics, Honors Bachelor of Science, and Bachelor of Science in Geology from Rand Afrikaans University. Francois brings a wealth of experience ranging from business analysis, distribution, technical to commercial marketing and held various marketing related managerial positions within BHP Billiton over the past 20 years. Prior to joining IFM, Francois was based in Europe and South East Asia where he gained valuable international marketing exposure.
